Sabbatini signs up for Dunhill
Rory Sabbatini has confirmed his place in the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek from December 11-14, with the PGA Tour campaigner hoping to end 2008 with a victory on home soil.
Sabbatini will make his debut at Leopard Creek, ranked the number one golf course in South Africa, and currently headlines a field that includes young stars such as Charl Schwartzel, Richard Sterne and Louis Oosthuizen from South Africa, England's Simon Dyson and Irishman Rory McIlroy.
Sabbatini's last victory came in the Crowne Plaza Invitational on the PGA Tour in May 2007. He finished last year with ten top-tens and earnings of just under 5-million. It followed an equally impressive 2006, where he also claimed a victory amidst five top-tens.
This year has not been as successful for the Durban-born golfer. But he did start exceptionally well with back-to-back finishes of second and tied third in the Sony Open and Buick Invitational respectively.
The Alfred Dunhill Championship is one of the few tournaments on the Sunshine Tour to be hosted outside the major centres in a unique setting on the border of the Kruger National Park, and is proudly supported by the Mpumalanga Provincial Government.
